Bryant Harvey Partnership was appointed by the RNIB for the phased redevelopment of their non-maintained primary special school for children aged 2-11 years with complex / multiple disabilities who are blind or partially sighted.

The phased redevelopment provided 6 specialist Classrooms, a new School Hall, Therapy Room, Sensory Room, Soft Play Room, Library and an Early Years Centre. In addition the redevelopment provided new administrative and staff areas, residential accommodation for up to 12 children and further overnight accommodation for visitors.

The phased redevelopment also included a new detached Hydrotherapy Pool building located in a small copse to the south of the new School building.

The new buildings are fully accessible, DDA compliant and have been designed to harmonise with the retained existing Edwardian house and its environs by the careful use of traditional materials.
