Halliwick is a regional further education college that provides self advocacy
skills and independence for students with disabilities over 16 years of age.
Halliwick New College will be sited on the Enfield College campus and is unique
in providing further education for students with disabilities within the campus
of a mainstream college. The new single storey building is designed for complete
flexibility under a space frame roof structure with external columns. It is
arranged around a central glazed street housing the services provisions with
other activity spaces located around two top glazed courtyards. The internal
layout ensures ease of mobility and wheelchair access to all parts of the building
and level walkways across the campus encourage integration between students
of the mainstream Enfield College and Halliwick College.
