Enfield Grammar School was established in 1558 and occupies two sites in Enfield
Town, both of which contain listed buildings. The Lower School which occupies
the old Enfield Court building (circa 1720), is also sited in a conservation
area. The school obtained funding to build a new Technology Block on the Enfield
Court site, replacing several “temporary” buildings.
The new building was designed as a long rectangular block in yellow London Stock
bricks with stone band courses and slate pitched roof with a central Clock Tower.
The design reflects the traditional construction of the adjacent listed buildings
and houses two workshops, class bases, food technology, textiles and a design
graphics resource centre.
