Broomfield School
New cafeteria building and a new
science and ICT extension
at
Broomfield School
Wilmer Way
London N14
The site for the new cafeteria overlooks the main entrance to the school. In
response to this the building was designed as a fully glazed single story steel
frame structure that established a more “modern” image of the school from the
main entrance and at the same time improve the on-site catering facilities.
It has been very successful in providing better quality food with a fast turnover
and the school has seen an increase in the number of staff and pupils dining
on-site.
The new science and ICT extension was designed as a steel frame structure to
enable ease of construction within the existing school and has silver aluminium
cladding panels which provide a striking contrast to the existing brick buildings.
