Bromfords School is a popular six form entry secondary school with increasing
rolls and an expanding 6th form in Wickford, Essex. The Bryant Harvey Partnership
was selected by limited competition and commissioned to analyse the schools
existing accommodation in relation to its curriculum needs and prepare a development
plan for expansion, remodelling, repair and maintenance.
The existing school buildings were built in two phases circa 1960, and are mainly
single storey steel frame structures with curtain walls and flat roofs. They
are arranged as a series of inter-connecting blocks around internal courtyards.
The development plan proposed a number of new build, remodelling and fabric
repair projects to be carried out over a five year period.
