London’s premier ski village is built on a large “man made hill” in Beckton
overlooking the City Airport and London Docklands.
The Bryant Harvey Partnership was appointed by Ski Village Holdings to design
and manage the construction of the new ski slope and lodge which were opened
by the Princess of Wales. The “dry slope” extends to nearly 200 metres with
an intermediate red run, moguls and a nursery slope, and is served by two POMA
button lifts. The ski lodge designed in the contemporary chalet style, contains
a ski and boot room, restaurant, bar, shops and offices. The centre is a popular
venue for both novice and expert skiers and runs specialist lessons for paraplegic
and disabled skiers.
